Vihover

Expected a mountain of legal text?

Sorry to disappoint. There isn’t much to tell — we don’t know who you are, and we’d rather keep it that way.

No cookies. No banner. No account.

You didn't have to click “accept” to read this page, and you never will. Nothing was written to your browser — not a cookie, not a line of local storage.

Our analytics can't tell who you are

We count visits: which pages, and which link sent you here. It runs in cookieless mode, so nothing is stored on your device and one visit can't be tied to the next. That's not a promise we make — it's a limitation we chose, and it can't be undone by a change of heart.

The app never reports what you watch

Vihover talks to exactly two servers: Polar, to check your licence key when it starts, and GitHub, to see whether an update exists. It never sends your files, your playlists, your positions or your viewing habits. There is no analytics code in the app at all.

If you buy, Polar handles it

Polar is our merchant of record: they take the payment, issue the invoice and handle the VAT. They need an email address to send you your licence key. We receive that email and your country — never your card details, which we could not see even if we wanted to.

The boring part we can't avoid

Our web server keeps standard access logs — IP address, page, timestamp — for a short period, as every web server on earth does. And if you email us, we keep your email so we can reply to it. That's the whole list.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to it being used. Write to hello@vihover.app — a human answers, and given how little there is to look up, it won’t take long.
